Yesterday after work, I drove to my friend’s place to pass her a box of mooncakes. There were so many traffic lights along the road. I touched my neck, noticed I did not put on my necklance with gold pendant. Necklance is white gold, so it is kind of unique to wear it with a gold pendant. Hubby and I have the same set. Pendant was bought in Athens during one of hubby’s trip. He passed the gift to me when we were in Sentosa. I think that was before we got married. I do not recall it was for any special occasion, he just gave it to me. I began to think of those carefree and happy lives. If we did not get married, would we still be like that, like two lovely birds in love. If we have no children, would it be the same as last time as well? Marriage, kids, changed our lives a lot. Sometimes, we talked to each other as if we were in a busy wet market. We got so bothered by the kids’ screaming, children’s upbringing. Gone are the days when we went for movies, nice dinner. Many days and nights, we spent in my mother’s place. No more luxury to sleep until 10am, be it on weekends. We take each other for granted. We take each day as it comes, and most of the time, we hope it will pass by quickly. We miss out the nice and sweet quality in life many times. While I take these few years as part of my difficult life since the kids are young, I am now determine to have many sweet moments with hubby.
