When young couples get married many a times, they dream of their own home. Yet when the elders see young couples marrying, they prefer to see them settling down with them. So the composition of a Chinese family is a lot bigger compared with the western counterpart. This in turn brings about some indifferences between the elders and the youngers.
I personally believe that in a large family in one which I am staying in, there are bound to be occasional uneasiness not because one is constantly looking for trouble but unfortunately many a times due to lack of understanding and hence plenty of misunderstanding.
In fact, occasionally how my in laws treat my children, in their heart are good, but to me I would interprete it as spoiling. Yet occasionally they will tell us about how not to spoil our children. It is almost as if we are parents yet we are not allowed to spoil our own children but as grandparents, they have the license to do so.
