Joe is turning 4 at the end of the year. Next year, we will have to decide which primary school we should enrol him into. It is indeed a tough decision. We have to consider the type of schools, the medium used in teaching, environment of the school, distance from our house, teachers , students etc.

Those schools which are considered “top schools” are situated quite far away from our place. Furthermore, I heard parents have to start queuing even before dawn just to secure a place for their child in that school. I wonder, does that mean studying in a “top school” will produce a bright and well-behaved student? There are so many stories that I heard about what parents do just to get their children into the “top schools”. Again, shall we ask, what is a “top school”? Do we judge by their acedemic results? Number of students? Quality of the teachers? Popularity?
I am confused. I still haven’t decided yet. I know that I have to ask what I want for my children. I know this is important as it lays the foundation and path to which they will go in the future. The personality of the child is equally important too. I guess I will have to think carefully before I make any decision.
